INITIAL THOUGHTS & FEEDBACK

It is clear to me that NutraBio places great value on CUSTOMER SERVICE. There is always quick and clear communication, and lots of follow up. Shipping is always swift. This promotion ended on Monday, I received a UPS tracking number on Wednesday, and the item arrived on Saturday.

I am pleasantly surprised with the great attention paid to the ingredients in this product. You get a clear, transparent label, so you know what you are getting in each scoop, with no proprietary blends or amino spiking, no unnecessary fillers, and no added Carbs/Sugars.

Here is my rating of this product, after using it for a few days:

PROFILE: 10/10
This is probably the cleanest protein powder I have ever tried before. The profile will speak for itself if you just take a look. Amazing Calorie/Protein ratio, very low Carbs, and zero added Sugar. I usually take 3-4 scoops of protein powder every day, so it is important to me that I keep my macros under control. Very happy with this profile!

VERSATILITY: 10/10
Not all protein powders are versatile enough to be used in different mixtures and recipes. To be completely honest, I like this powder better in other mixtures than mixed with just water… It bakes very well and it will keep your macros in line even when on a cut. I wanted to try in different mixtures and with different recipes. It behaves very well and it is quite versatile.

TASTE:
… With Water: 8/10
My first thought was “COCOA”. There is a strong hint of it from the first sip. Almost like a dark chocolate. It’s an almost-bitter taste, but still chocolaty enough. It did not disappoint. It just didn’t have enough chocolate in there for my expectation.

… With FairLife: 9/10
The taste was very much improved with FairLife. Much creamier and not so bitter a taste. Now, if I could only afford to use FairLife every time I make a protein shake… LOL

TEXTURE:
… With Water: 8/10
I thought this was a thin mixture. I expected that since it is an Isolate, but it is mixed with Whey, so I expected at least a little bit of thickness in there. The top of the glass was foamy and a little bit thicker, but as you move towards the bottom, the drink feels quite thin, almost like a cocoa-flavored water. I wanted more consistency when mixed with water.

… With FairLife: 10/10
The texture was much, much better with FairLife. Very smooth, creamy, and also VERY CONSISTENT all the way to the bottom of the glass. I would assume this would be even better if mixed in a blender/mixer. I used a NutraBio shaker cup and was very happy with the results!

MIXABILITY: 9/10
The powder mixes well, but as with many other Isolates I’ve had, you’ll have to keep mixing as you drink, because if you don’t, the drink at the bottom will be a bit thinner than the foam at the top. One great thing about this was that there was no residue at the bottom.

PRICE: 9/10
This is not cheap. But then again, it is not cheap-tasting… so I guess you get what you pay for. At $50 for 30 servings, I would probably choose to keep this at 2 scoops per day at the most, and use a less expensive powder for my other two scoops. I understand that quality products will cost more.

OVERALL: 9/10
I was very happy with this product. I enjoyed every serving. Members of my family tasted some of my recipes and liked them very much. My favorite was the cupcake recipe, but I liked them all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a clean, high-quality protein powder. I would buy this for myself but I would use it sparingly.

    Looks good, but also expensive.

    • NoCarbsNoSugar says:

It is not as cheap as other protein powders.
      This is true.
You have to consider the quality of the product though, and also that food products that are more “natural” will usually cost a bit more than foods that are not.

  2. Just A Plane Jane says:

    the cupcakes look good

  3. Andrew says:

    great looking recipes

  4. Color Me Angry says:

    Too expensive.
Why not just eat chicken, fish, dairy, etc?
    Just too expensive.

    • NoCarbsNoSugar says:

This is more expensive than most protein powders I’ve used. True. I usually don’t buy expensive supplements, unless I really like them. In all fairness though, I did not pay for this tub, so I won’t complain about the cost 🙂

If I did pay for it, I would not have used it for recipes. Using it for recipes caused me to go through the tub much much quicker.

Regarding chicken, fish, dairy, etc., … it is not only cheaper to eat that for protein >>> it is also more efficient. Using protein powder is simply more convenient, and often used as a treat.
