Fit Crunch Bars & Brownies

A few days ago I purchased 4 FIT Crunch Bars (4 flavors) and 4 FIT Crunch Brownies (2 flavors). I had all bars at room temperature, and I had 2 of the the cookies at room temperature and 2 of them microwaved. The wrapper suggests the brownies are microwaved for ten seconds. Here is the entire lot I bought. It took me about a week to go through it.

I ate the bars one flavor at the time. The brownies I had in sets of two of the same flavor – dry and microwaved – in order to compare them in one sitting.

FIT Crunch Bar
Peanut Butter

Very good hint of peanut butter, but not overpowering. The chocolate coating adds great contrast between salty and sweet.

I absolutely love the soft/crunchy combination in this bar. The top is somewhat soft and chewy and the middle is harder and crunchier.

FIT Crunch Bar
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Very chocolaty. Very tasty. I was looking for more cookie dough taste in there. Couldn’t find enough of it. I would name this simply “Chocolate” or perhaps “Double Chocolate.”

TEXTURE: 10/10
Perfect combination of soft and crunchy. The multiple layers feature different degrees of gooey and crunchy. Simply amazing.

FIT Crunch Bar
Cookies And Cream

This bar looks amazing, both in the picture on the wrapper and outside of it. The taste was great, but it almost didn’t live up to the expectation you get from looking at it before you eat it. I felt this was simply a variation on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor, but not as tasty. Still good enough though.

Great texture variation in this bar, but the crunchy part was just too … crunchy … for my taste. I wanted a softer inside. More of a personal taste than anything. I still liked this bar.

FIT Crunch Bar
Birthday Cake

This was my favorite flavor of the four I tried. The only thing that I was not crazy about was the fact that it had a bit of a “plain butter” taste. Also, the picture on the wrapper shows little candy sprinkles, but there are none in the bar. LOL. I guess they were going for the flavor there, and not actual candy sprinkles.

TEXTURE: 10/10
The texture also made this my favorite of the four because it was crunchy enough, but not too much. Great balance between soft and crunchy, with about 70% soft and 30% crunch, at room temperature.

… the following ratings are more general and apply to all four flavors combined together …

Great Protein amount per bar! However, I thought the calories were a bit too high on these bars. When on a cut, one bar can almost go for an entire meal. Also very high in Carbs. I wanted to at least see more Fiber in there to bring down the Net Carbs number. I will say that the high amount of calories and Carbs/Sugar could possibly be justified by the fact that this is MUCH LARGER that your typical protein bar (88g).

These are large bars. They will fill you up and could easily work as a meal replacement if you wanted them to.

PRICE: 8/10
A bit too costly for my budget. If you have a bar every day, they would get quite costly. Maybe they would work better as an occasional treat. By the way, if you buy them by the box, you’ll save a little. I bought them individually for $3.05/bar.

Overall: 8/10
Generally happy with these. I would like to see better macros on these, and a more affordable price for someone who would want to make them a regular part of their diet.

My flavor preference between the four would be as follows:

1. Birthday Cake
2. Peanut Butter
3. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
4. Cookies And Cream

FIT Crunch Brownie

Room Temperature

This was too bitter for my taste. Made me think of a Dark Chocolate flavor.

Way too chewy. The brownie got stuck between my teeth as I ate it. LOL. Didn’t like this at all.

Microwave 10 seconds

When microwaved, this was a bit better. This was probably because the topping melted into the batter and made it less bitter.

Texture was better after microwaving, but this was still too chewy. I ate this with a spoon, because it was too messy. No problem with that though.

FIT Crunch Brownie
Cookie Dough

Room Temperature

This was better than the Chocolate flavor, even without microwaving it. Sweeter and more pleasant to eat. Still not what you would expect from a brownie though.

Also better than the Chocolate. Not too chewy and I liked the chunks of chocolate inside the brownie.

Even better! Sweet. Not bitter at all. Nicely melted chocolate chunks inside made it delicious and gave it a bit of a Rum flavor.

Yes, even better! The melted chocolate chunks made for an enjoyable texture . Soft and chewy, but not too chewy like the Chocolate flavor.

… the following ratings are more general and apply to both flavors combined together …

For such a small snack, the macros on these are a bit too high. I would like to see either twice the size in the brownie or half the macros.

Nah. This will make for an average snack, but it will not fill you up. These are quite small and very thin.

PRICE: 6/10
Too expensive. I am not cheap, but considering the size, these should cost about $1. Either that or double the size. My opinion.

I won’t buy these again. I’ll just leave it at that.

Just like that NutraBio powder in that other review you wrote, this is too expensive. Just too expensive. Just eat your chicken and save your money.
