Dymatize – New Pre

I was lucky enough to be selected to try the new Pre from Dymatize. Follow along for a few days as I provide some feedback on this product.

The package came in the mail in a very nice box. It included a 20 serving tub of the new Pre, a branded shaker bottle, a branded tshirt, and some literature. The initial reaction upon opening the package was a very pleasant one.

THURSDAY, JUNE 15
FIRST-TIME USE

I had no workout scheduled for hours when the package arrived, and I could NOT wait until my evening workout… so I had one scoop.

POSITIVE:
Taste – amazing. I got the Cotton Candy flavor. The stuff tastes amazing!

Potency – It worked really well, too, but I had no workout to use it for, so I just ending up not sitting down for a while at home 🙂 Great tingly feeling with no jitters and no after-crush.

BE AWARE:
There might be some clumping upon opening the tub. There’s a sticker on the lid that says “Shake container well before every use – contents may settle” This should not be too much of a concern. Mine had some clumps in there. Just take a fork or knife and crush them boulders.

My initial impression of this Pre is absolutely positive.
I will purchase this for sure when available in stores.

Just in case you’re wondering, here’s some supplement info…

FRIDAY, JUNE 16
SECOND-TIME USE

I’ve been doing bike rides lately. Anywhere from 10-20 miles, on an almost daily basis. Today I used 1 scoop of the Dymatize Pre before a 10 mile bike ride. Took it 15 minutes before the ride. Here are some ride details…

Distance: 10 Miles
Time: 48 Minutes
Avg Speed: 12.6 Miles/Hour
Avg Heart Rate: 124 bmp
Calories Burned: 513

The Pre worked out very well. It gave me great, sustained energy, and my legs felt especially good (for lack of a better word 🙂 ) on the few steep climbs on the route. Overall very happy with this Pre, so far.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17
LATE-NIGHT PULL SESSION

I had already done an earlier workout on Saturday. It was a long Cardio session on my bike in the outdoors, mixed with a few sets of push-ups.

At 9PM, I had one scoop of the Dymatize PreWo and got a PULL workout in, using resistance cables at home. The workout looked like this:

BICEPS
Resistance Cable Curl
20lbsX50
30lbsX50
50lbsX25
60lbsX20

BACK
Resistance Cable Bent-Over Row
20lbsX50
30lbsX50
50lbsX40
60lbsX40

Had my PRE drink (1 scoop) mixed in some 16oz of water and topped with ice. It tasted amazing and was very potent during my workout!

The only problem I would report – and this is totally on me – is that I could not fall asleep until about 4AM… 😀 The label does say not to take this four hours before bedtime, but I’ve taken other PREs before bed and had no issue falling asleep.

So I squirmed in bed for a few hours and then had no choice but to get up and do some work online. Eh, you learn something new every day. Or night…

Here’s a shot of my drink from Saturday:

I discovered that for me, this PreWO hits about 12, maybe 15 minutes after I take it.
I mix it with some 12oz of water, maybe a bit more.

10 Commentsto Dymatize – New Pre

  1. Stan D. says:

You use quite a lot of Dymatize products, don’t you…

    • NoCarbsNoSugar says:

Yes Stan, I have used quite a few products from the brand.
Some of them I got from the brand to try out and some of them I bought myself.

It is a great brand with great products.
      You should check it out.
Their protein bars, for example, are amazing.
A few months I bought TEN BOXES of them, and ate them within 2 months…
      Talk about a bulk… 😀

  2. Zachary G. says:

    More dymatize for you.
    Never heard of this preworkout.
Will you share a photo of what it looks like when mixed in water?

    • NoCarbsNoSugar says:

Lots of Dymatize for me! 😀
I don’t think I was without Dymatize since I first used it some two years ago.
I don’t think I ever will be without Dymatize.
      At least I hope I won’t.
There’s always something new to try, as well as some things I’ve had before that I want to have again.

I have more photos to share.
      Coming up.

  3. trubadour says:

Nice job on the curl pr

  4. shampoo king says:

    Great PR work.
Do you get the tingles with this pre?

  5. Donny R. says:

How would you compare this Dymatize Pre to the Gaspari Pre you are reviewing in the other post?

    • NoCarbsNoSugar says:

I try not to answer questions like these publicly, for obvious reasons.

I will start by saying that, to begin with, I am not big on PREs, so I can’t claim to have a long list of different ones I’ve used. Perhaps I am not the best person to ask.

The Gaspari is great. It tastes awesome, very refreshing, and gives good energy with no crash after.

The Dymatize is great. It tastes awesome, very refreshing, and gives good energy with no crash after.

But I am not answering your question, am I…

If I had to choose between the two, I would choose the Dymatize. I feel the energy from the Dymatize is more sustained and my workouts are much more intense. Very intense, actually!
I get most of my PRs with the Dymatize lately.

Good think I don’t have to choose between the two 😀
